Reset Linksys Router

We will talk about the way to reset Linksys router. Before you press the reset button, you must be conscious that you are going to lose all the settings of your linksys router. Your device will come lower back to the manufacturing default settings and you may want to reconfigure it from the beginning.

Step 1: Find the reset button to your router.

There’s a small reset button on the back panel of the router. Generally Linksys routers have reset button at the back panel wherein you connect the Ethernet cables. In case of WRT collection of routers, small red coloured hole on the back panel. In case of recent E series routers E4200, E3200, E1200, E2500, E1550, E1500, the reset button is at the bottom aspect. You may need to turn the device upside down.

Step 2: As in line with the manual you want to press the reset button for 10 seconds. Use a ball pen or paper clip. We will suggest you to press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds. At the same time, you will see the power light will start blinking.

Step 3: Release the reset button and watch for 30 seconds.

Step4: Unplug the power cable from the back side of the router. Await 10 seconds and plug it back in.

Step5: Wait 30 seconds till all of the lighting  activate and power light will become stable.

Step 6: Now run the CD for reconfiguration. Or you may setup your device manually, without CD. Simply open the setup web page and configure your linksys router.

There is any other way of resetting. If you are able to get into the setup page of Linksys router then you can reset the router setting from setup page.

Click on “Administration” tab then go to “Factory Defaults” sub tab. You will find the option to “Restore factory defaults”.

Once you reset your Linksys router, you’ll want to reconfigure it from the scratch. You can setup your Linksys router without set up CD or with CD setup
